After allegations that he cheated on his wife Behati Prinsloo and that he wanted to name his son after his alleged lover, the singer Adam Levine is manifesting.
“A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear things up,” the Maroon 5 frontman wrote in a statement posted to his Instagram on Tuesday.
“I used bad judgment when talking to anyone other than my wife about any kind of flirtation,” Levine wrote. “I didn’t have an affair, however, I crossed the line during an unfortunate period of my life.”
Levine broke the silence after a video of the model Sumner Stroh went viral on TikTok, in which she says she dated Levine for about a year. She also shared Instagram messages that she claims are from him.
“At the time, I was young, naive, and frankly, I feel exploited,” said the young woman.
Levine, according to her, ended the relationship with a request.
“He said, ‘Okay, serious question. I’m having another baby and if it’s a boy, I really want to name him Sumner,” she said, reading the supposed message aloud. “Are you okay with that? Very serious.'”
Levine and his wife, who he has been with for eight years, recently revealed that they are expecting their third child.
“In certain cases it has become inappropriate; I addressed this and took proactive steps to remedy this with my family,” Levine wrote in his statement.
“My wife and family are all I care about in this world. Being so naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that really matters to me was the biggest mistake I could ever make,” he wrote. “I take full responsibility. We’ll get through this. And we will get through this together.”
