Airbus has inaugurated the production and distribution center for the A350 aircraft in the city of Tianjin in northern China.
This is the first time that the European Aircraft Consortium has launched such a program for A350 aircraft outside Europe.
Airbus yesterday delivered an A350 aircraft to China Eastern Airlines from the said hub.
“Airbus sees China as a long-term strategic market. We have full confidence in the resilience and dynamism of its aviation industry, “said George Soo, CEO of Airbus China.
“The new move demonstrates our commitment to deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with China and better serving local customers through more local solutions and capabilities,” Shu added.
In all, five A350 wide-body aircraft will be delivered to Tianjin in 2021, with more aircraft deliveries to Chinese customers under way as the hub accelerates production and market demand recovers, according to Airbus China.
