Alec Baldwin: The actor may face justice for the tragedy on the set of Rust

Actor Alec Baldwin may face criminal charges for the fatal injury of Halina Hutchins on the set of the movie “Rust”according to Santa Fe County District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies.

During the New Mexico Economic Council meeting held on September 20, the district attorney requested and received emergency funding to continue the investigation into the tragedy that occurred on October 21. According to a video of the meeting seen by People, the prosecutor said that “we are waiting maybe a few days before we get the final report from the sheriff’s office” and that “one to four people may face criminal charges.”

In her letter to the Economic Council of New Mexico, published by Deadline, she says, according to the Athens News Agency: “One of the possible defendants is the well-known actor Alec Baldwin,” adding that there could be four separate criminal trials. The actor’s attorney, Luke Nikas, tells PEOPLE that “the district attorney has made it clear that she has not received the sheriff’s report or made any decisions … She should be given time to consider the matter without baseless speculation and innuendo.”
