Well-known macroeconomist and analyst Alex Kruger believes that Bitcoin is now experiencing a “super cycle”, which is very different from previous cycles of the cryptocurrency market.

According to Alex Krüger, the crypto space has undergone the most significant shift in history, with the industry moving closer to becoming one of the leading US government-backed industries in recent weeks. The economist compared this dramatic change to the “gold reform,” when 37th US President Richard Nixon abolished the gold standard in 1971, causing gold to skyrocket from $35 a troy ounce to $850 in 1981.

Kruger predicts that Bitcoin will reach a new all-time high in March 2025. This peak will depend on the rate of price increases, financing rates and overall economic conditions. However, a new Bitcoin peak should not be regarded as the beginning of a bearish trend – the necessary conditions for it have not yet been created, the economist explained.

He noted that new Bitcoin peaks are still to come as bull runs typically last for many months. Kruger recalled that only a month has passed since Donald Trump won the presidential election, and his inauguration ceremony awaits him in January. Given Trump’s support for cryptocurrencies, his further steps to regulate the industry could push Bitcoin even higher.

Last year, Kruger called the first cryptocurrency only a means of preserving savings. In his opinion, late investors will no longer be able to quickly get rich by investing in Bitcoin, since “their train has left.”
