Dutch prosecutors want to sentence Tornado Cash mixer developer Alexey Pertsev to 64 months in prison. This is reported by CoinDesk with reference to members of the team of prosecutors.
According to journalists, the court's decision may affect the attitude towards developers of open source projects, and the judge must deliver the final verdict on May 14, 2024.
It should be noted that earlier the media received access to the indictment in the case of Alexey Pertsev. Journalists learned that the Dutch prosecutor's office accused one of the developers of the Tornado Cash mixer of laundering $1.2 billion.
Pertsev was detained in Amsterdam in August 2022, he spent about nine months in prison.
Another developer of the mixer, Roman Storm, is also suspected of money laundering. They previously launched a fundraising campaign to pay for lawyers.
