Alpha Bank: New Managing Director Michalis Tsarbopoulos

Alpha Bank announced the hiring of Michalis Tsarbopoulos, from December 1, 2021, in the position of Managing Director General of the bank.

Mr. Tsarbopoulos assumes the position of Chief Digital Officer (CDO), is part of the General Management Growth and Innovation of the Bank and, with his experience, comes to strengthen the ambitious Transformation Program of the Alpha Bank Group.

Short biography of Michalis Tsarbopoulos

Michalis Tsarbopoulos was born in 1976. He holds an MBA from the Simon Business School of the University of Rochester, NY and is a graduate of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. He has more than 14 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the banking sector in Greece and a total of 20 years of professional experience. During his tenure at Eurobank, he has served in key roles, most recently those of the Group Chief Digital Officer, with primary responsibility for planning, overseeing and supporting the implementation of the digital strategy, as well as the Deputy General Manager – Head of Global Transaction Banking. Earlier in his career, he worked for Boston Consulting Group, focusing mainly on the Financial Services sector and has also served as Manager of Strategic Initiatives at HSBC Greece.
