A crucial turning point in the libel trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. For the first time, in fact, the actress is at the stand to testify. It happened on Wednesday May 4th, when her lawyer Elaine Bredehoft asked her to retrace the beginning of the alleged physical abuse suffered by the ex-husband.
At that point, he said, “my life changed.” And to think that that moment had started in a completely random way: the couple was on the sofa chatting more or less when she asked him about a certain tattoo (Wino forever) whose meaning he could not decipher. He explained it to her: initially it was a tribute to her ex Winona Ryder but then he edited the writing after the breakup.
The actress of Aquaman she found the explanation rather funny and laughed, because she thought it was a joke: “I thought he too would have laughed and told me he was making fun of me but he didn’t.” And so, according to her testimony, Johnny Depp would have slapped her. “No one – she said – had ever hit me like that.” And she kept doing it because she didn’t react, so she would fall on the carpet, “but she didn’t hurt me, not physically. Anyway, I didn’t want to leave him. ”
According to her, Johnny Depp started crying when he realized what had happened, but the actor said during his testimony that this never happened. Amber Heard has recounted the abuse and violence on various occasions from her ex-husband, listing the times she said she was beaten to the point of bleeding on her face: “She wore a lot of rings, you know.”
And during the various reconstructions the actress’s voice was cracked: “He could have killed me, it’s embarrassing”. In that case Depp would have slammed her into the wall of a cabin on the yacht he was about to sell to JK Rowling, writer of Harry Potter.
The trial, which began on 11 April, is expected to last five weeks.
