Intel intends to migrate all of its mobile and desktop processors to a heterogeneous architecture with large and small cores later this year. AMD seems to be looking in that direction as well.

There have already been leaks hinting that AMD will combine different cores in one processor in the future AMD lines. Now the same is indicated by a new patent from the company called Method of transferring tasks between heterogeneous processors.

The patent was filed back in 2019, that is, AMD has been developing the corresponding technologies for several years. The document describes the specific processes of transferring tasks between different CPU cores, but the main thing for us is to understand that we are talking specifically about heterogeneous processors.

Now it is believed that such will be the Ryzen 8000, codenamed Strix Point. These processors are expected only in 2023-2024, so details about them are minimal.
