American retailer Newegg adds support for Dogecoin

American online electronics store Newegg added the ability to pay for goods in Dogecoin cryptocurrency in honor of “Dogecoin Day”.

April 20 is considered the day of the DOGE cryptocurrency and, given the significant growth of the coin and the attention to it, the Newegg management decided to add support for Dogecoin. Payments will be accepted through the BitPay operator.

“The hype around cryptocurrencies is undeniable, and the recent rally in Dogecoin suggests the need to make it easier for customers to shop with this cryptocurrency. We strive to provide our customers with the easiest way to buy the products they need with the most convenient payment method. And we’re thrilled to give Dogecoin fans the ability to shop directly, ”said Newegg Brand Manager Andrew Choi.

Newegg added bitcoin payments for Americans back in 2014. And in 2019, residents of 73 countries at once were able to pay for goods on the platform using BTC.

Over the past week, the DOGE rate has increased by 400%. Some systems of the Robinhood trading app have gone down due to excessive workload from cryptocurrency traders. Note that the fall in the cryptocurrency market on Sunday, April 18, did not lead to a tangible decline in Dogecoin.
