An electric charging infrastructure will be built in the Rostov region: 100 million rubles were allocated for this

Representatives of the government of the Rostov region officially signed a partnership agreement with the Russian company Sitronics Group, which is part of AFK Sistema, CNews reported, citing its sources. As part of this partnership agreement, the subsidiary Sitronics Electro will develop the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the Rostov region. This is likely to have a positive impact on the popularization of electric vehicles and increase the comfort of owners of vehicles without an internal combustion engine under the hood.

Within the framework of cooperation between the government and a private company, Sitronics Group provides for investments in the creation of the necessary electric charging infrastructure in the region – approximately 100 million rubles will be allocated for this. However, it is worth immediately clarifying that the project is a pilot one – on its basis it is planned to develop infrastructure outside the region in the foreseeable future.

“The Rostov region is a pilot region for the placement of charging infrastructure facilities. I hope that the partnership with Sitronics Group will allow us to fulfill the tasks of the plan approved in the region and increase the flow of such vehicles on the roads of the region,” said Vasily Golubev, Governor of the Rostov Region.

And, with a high degree of probability, we can say that the company is able to succeed in this direction. The fact is that Sitronics Electro is already developing the infrastructure of charging stations for electric cars throughout Russia – the operator’s charging stations for passenger vehicles are already operating in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk and the Krasnodar Territory. Now the company plans to expand its arsenal of charging stations – eight charging stations will be placed in the Rostov region on the M-4 Don highway. The company in this case is responsible not only for the installation of electric charging stations, but also for their connection, service and round-the-clock customer support.

And although as of April 2022, only 240 electric vehicles were registered in the Rostov region, the expansion of infrastructure will clearly help in expanding the local car fleet. Nevertheless, most often, potential buyers refuse to purchase this type of transport precisely because of the lack of the required number of charging stations, especially on intercity routes.
