Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, said that cryptocurrencies and mining may well be legalized in Russia.
The MP stressed that digital assets must be regulated in accordance with all the rules of the financial market. That is, we need mandatory identification of participants and tests for qualified investors. Platforms will have to obtain a special license and comply with the principles of reporting and taxation.
The parliamentarian spoke about such a concept as “cryptomania”. When investors invest their last money in various tokens, hoping for massive growth:
“The phenomenon exists, there are those who want to take risks – well, to your health, take risks, but under strict regulation and control.”
Now there is some calm on the issue of regulation and legalization of cryptocurrencies in Russia. However, in autumn the legislative process, according to Aksakov, should go more actively.
Recently, Anatoly Aksakov introduced a bill to the lower house of parliament to punish the issuance of digital assets without the permission of the regulator. Legal entities are proposed to be fined up to 1 million rubles.
