Promoting such ideas against Ethereum is stupid, since it harms the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem, the CEO of Solana is convinced. Protocols can coexist without the threat of destroying each other. Yakovenko spoke positively about dunksharding technology, which allows the blockchain to better scale and provide sufficient throughput to accommodate all Solana data.
“Technologies operating according to the Pareto principle, when 20% of efforts provide 80% of the result, can have identical characteristics and will compete. This is completely normal. I don’t see a future in which Solana prospers and Ethereum dies,” Yakovenko tweeted on the social network X.
Previously, MakerDAO co-founder and CEO Rune Christensen proposed using Solana code for the NewChain project, despite the fact that he has been collaborating with Ethereum for a long time. This prompted a strong reaction from some Solana supporters, who called Christensen’s proposal “preparing for a battle of the fittest.” Yakovenko was quick to say that this is an overall victory for open source, and the Solana community will not use MakerDAO as a “bludgeon to attack Ethereum.”
Recently, Anatoly Yakovenko expressed sympathy for Solana-based crypto projects after the infamous collapse of the FTX crypto exchange, which led to a sharp drop in the SOL rate.
