Anglo American Plc has announced an increase in diamond sales to its subsidiary De Beers, for the fourth sales cycle of 2022.
The mining company announced temporary sales of $ 604 million through May 17, compared to $ 385 million in the second sales cycle of 2021.
In the third round of 2022 (March 28 to April 12), De Beers had sales of $ 566 million.
We are seeing continued good demand for our rough diamonds during the fourth sales cycle in 2022, with the support of strong consumer demand for diamond jewelry in the US.
However, demand for rough diamonds in the next cycle will be affected as usual by the closure of many factories in India for the May holidays, said the CEO of De Beers.
