Anitta is the latest Brazilian to have a wax statue on display at the famous Madame Tussauds museum.
This Thursday (2), at an event at the New York branch, in the famous Times Square, the Brazilian pop star officially opened the work, which took about six months and required the work of 20 artists to complete.
“It has all my tattoos!”, she said, impressed upon seeing the result of the work.
“During the process, you think about giving up 20 times. Because you stay still for 12 hours in the same position, with the same expression”, joked the singer during the opening ceremony, which was not open to the public.

Madame Tussauds’ advice explained to CNN that the choice of personalities who will receive a statue are “a reflection of those who have had a significant impact on the world”.
“We are always listening to visitor feedback when we decide who will be next to receive the honor of winning a statue.”
In addition to Anitta, Neymar, Pelé, Ayrton Senna, Gisele Bündchen, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrósio are among the Brazilians immortalized in wax by Madame Tussauds.
With the exception of Senna, who is at the museum in Orlando, all Brazilians are in the New York branch.
In August of last year, when announcing that Anitta would be turned into a statue, the museum stated: “As the biggest pop star to come from Brazil in history, Anitta is perfectly suited for the honor of winning a wax statue.”
With a costume donated by the singer to the museum, the statue of Anitta has the pants and panties on display used in her performance at Rock in Rio, in 2019.
In addition, the statue uses a white cropped with “Girl from Rio” – the same used in some scenes of the video for “Girl From Rio”, released in April 2021.
The announcement that Anitta would have a statue at Madame Tussauds was made in August of last year.
At the time, the singer posted on Twitter: “I’m so honored! I can’t wait to have my waxwork at Madame Tussauds in New York!”

According to Madame Tussauds, the process of creating a statue can require over 200 measurements and photographs taken from all angles of the star being portrayed.
“The head is crafted separately from the body mold, and it can take four to six weeks to sculpt and achieve the exact likeness of the famous face,” the museum states on its website.
Even though Madame Tussauds has locations across several countries, all the statues are produced in a studio in West London.
Museums welcome over 500 million people every year.
