Anton Gorelkin noted that over the next two months, parliament will consider changes to the tax code that will provide the federal budget with income from mining companies.
“As early as December, miners can begin working under the new legislative framework. An option is being tentatively considered in which mining in data centers will be subject to income tax. For all other types of mining, there will be an analogue of a single tax on imputed income with a variable rate calculated based on the level of electricity consumption,” he said.
According to the deputy, the final formula for taxation of mining activities in Russia will determine the configuration of the experimental legal regime for settlements in digital assets.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Evgeny Grabchak said that illegal mining farms are a “stain of shame” for the Russian cryptocurrency mining industry, and the Industrial Mining Association should deal with the issue of eliminating them from the market.
