Apple Co-Founder Calls Most Crypto Assets Robbery and Fraud

One of the founders of Apple criticized the practice of luring potential crypto investors with celebrity token advertisements.

Steve Wozniak in an interview drew attention to the fact that now a huge number of altcoins are being created daily. Wozniak criticized crypto assets, including meme cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens, calling most of them fraudulent. In his opinion, the creators of such tokens are trying to lure potential investors by using the services of actors, musicians and other stars in order to gain the trust of buyers:

“Anyone can create a new token and advertise it with the help of a famous person. Even at a very early stage, issuers can collect a lot of money from people rushing to buy tokens while they are worth a penny.”

On the other hand, investors should not be too critical of cryptocurrency projects, Wozniak said. Perhaps among them there is a startup that can become “another Apple company”, only now investors may not understand this.

Despite Wozniak’s rather pessimistic statements about cryptocurrencies, he has always admired bitcoin. Last year, the businessman called BTC “a unique mathematical miracle,” although he clarified that he himself did not plan to invest in bitcoin.

Note that a few months ago, the co-founder of Apple had a better opinion about digital assets, believing that they can optimize any area of activity. However, governments will never allow bitcoin and any other cryptocurrencies to get out of their control of regulators, Wozniak believes. And this, in his opinion, is the main problem of cryptocurrencies.
