Apple doesn’t really care about the global shortage of chips: the company expects more than 100 million Apple A15 Bioinic SoCs from TSMC this year

According to supply chain sources, TSMC is actively manufacturing Apple A15 Bioinic SoCs for iPhone 13 smartphones. The total number of Apple A15 Bioinic platforms that TSMC is expected to ship this year exceeds 100 million units.

The world’s largest contract manufacturer, TSMC, said more than a month ago that it would prioritize Apple and the auto makers in its production schedule for the third quarter. TSMC has confirmed that it will prioritize the production of Apple’s A-series SoCs.

The Apple A15 Bionic will be manufactured using the TSMC N5P manufacturing process. Although the A14 Bionic is also manufactured using a 5nm process, the new technology is expected to be an improved version that could slightly improve performance and energy efficiency. The Apple A15 Bionic may include two high-performance cores with four energy-efficient cores, just like last year.

Foxconn employees previously told the media that during the flood, about 1,000 people at the plant were trapped and awaiting rescue. However, the production lines of the iPhone 13 were not affected. To ensure a smooth growth in production capacity for the iPhone 13, the company is constantly increasing bonuses by attracting employees. If employees work on the production line for 90 days, they will receive a bonus of $ 1,540. This amount has been increased several times since the beginning of the year. Foxconn received all orders for the new 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max, 68% of orders for the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and about 60% of orders for the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro.

The iPhone 13 is expected to be unveiled in September.
