Apple Releases Android Software That Will Protect Against Tracking Using AirTags

When Apple first introduced AirTag, many users expressed excitement about “stalking,” a situation where someone could toss a device into a user’s bag or backpack and track a person’s location. Fortunately, the iOS device immediately notifies the user about the presence of a nearby AirTag spying on, which excludes the possibility of invisible spying on someone using this gadget. And now Apple has released a dedicated Tracker Detect app for the Android operating system that performs a similar function.

Users who do not have an iOS device only need to install the Tracker Detect application on their Android smartphone, after which the software will allow detecting nearby AirTag gadgets, as well as any devices that are compatible with the Find My function. If the software detects an unknown AirTag that follows it for ten minutes, the tracking device will be marked as “Unknown AirTag”. It will also be possible to give a command to the tracker to play a sound signal, which will make it easier to find the tracking device in a bag or clothing.

If, after detecting a suspicious AirTag, the user wants to get rid of the tracking device, you just need to touch the NFC-enabled smartphone to the “tablet” to receive instructions on how to remove the battery and turn off the gadget. Probably, Apple was simply forced to create this application, since cases of harassment of users using AirTags have become more frequent in the world – for example, car thieves throw a $ 29 gadget into an expensive car, the owner of which uses an Android smartphone, and then find it on the map and steal it. at a convenient time.
