Billboard reported, on Sunday (17), that Ariana Grande's new studio album, “Eternal Sunshine”, debuted at the top of the albums chart. This was the sixth of the singer's seven albums to top the list.
Before him, the albums “Positions”, “Thank U, Next”, “Sweetener”, “My Everything” and “Yours Truly” occupied the position. Only “Dangerous Woman”, Ariana’s third album, did not top the Billboard 200 and peaked at second place.
“Eternal Sunshine” also became the best album debut in 2024 with 227,000 units, adding album sales and streaming of all versions of the album. The brand surpasses the feat of “Vultures 1”, by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign, which had reached just 148,000.
The American singer's seventh album was released on March 8, in celebration of International Women's Day. The album was preceded by its first single, “yes, and?”, which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and was covered by Mariah Carey.
Ariana also released “we can't be friends (wait for your love)” on the same date that the album was made available to fans.
In the video, the singer performs with Evan Peters (actor by Jeffrey Dahmer), with scenes that show references to the film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, released in 2004.
