Arnold Schwarzenegger involved in a car accident in Los Angeles

Actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was involved in a multi-vehicle accident Friday night in Los Angeles.

A rep for the actor told People magazine he was not hurt. “He is fine, his only concern at the moment is the woman who was injured,” he said.

The accident happened around 4:35 pm (local time) on West Sunset Boulevard and Allenford Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a press release.

“When officers from the West LA area arrived at the scene, it was determined that four vehicles were involved,” police said.

A woman was taken to a hospital for a bruise to her head, Los Angeles Police said.

“Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as a factor in this collision.” All parties remained at the scene,” said Los Angeles Police.

A CNN reached out to Schwarzenegger’s representatives for comment.

Schwarzenegger, 74, ran for governor as a Republican and won in 2003, ousting Democratic governor Gov. Gray Davis.

The actor-turned-politician, the latest GOP member to lead the state, was re-elected as governor in 2006 and stepped down in 2011. He was the only person in California history to win a gubernatorial race in a re-election election. .

The Austrian-born movie star moved to the US in 1968, where he prospered as a bodybuilder and actor, winning Mr. World competitions.

He also landed the lead roles in the movies “Conan the Barbarian”, “The Terminator” and “Total Recall”.

After he left the government, the actor further spoke about the political climate, expressing deep concern about the insurrection on the US Capitol and partisanship.

“I’m worried about both parties. The two have to come together and work together because you can’t have run the country with 50% intelligence. You need 100% brain power,” he said.
