The northern section of the Rodoanel should be auctioned in March next year, according to Tarcísio de Freiras, governor-elect of São Paulo.
“In March we should hold this auction. The auction becomes successful when you talk to the private sector, when you start to realize what’s going on, we talk to the funds, with those interested, so I’m optimistic about the success of the auction. So, in theory, we will hold the auction in March and it will be successful”, he said.
The speech took place during participation in an event at B3, which brought together elected governors to discuss priorities for infrastructure in the states.
The auction should have taken place in April this year, but was postponed due to lack of interested parties. Before the new advance, the new date for the event would be January 2023.
The planned investment is R$ 3.4 billion, R$ 2 billion of which for the execution of the remaining works. According to Tarcísio, this extra period is necessary to readjust the model and make it more attractive.
“The market is starting to feel comfortable with the model and we need to give it the necessary preparation time. “The northern section of the Rodoanel is the only one left to complete the ring road that surrounds São Paulo and was idealized by tucana administrations in the 1990s.
