Last week, unofficial information appeared that the first “lightweight” cars Lada Granta and Lada Niva without ABS, ESP, ERA-GLONASS, and without airbags will go on sale this summer.
Now it has become officially known that the Russian automaker Avtovaz has supported the proposal to adopt a new technical regulation with simplified requirements for car safety. This was reported by the press service of the company.
Such a decision will allow, in the face of a shortage of a number of imported components, to continue the production of cars, ensure the loading of conveyors and employment of personnel, the manufacturer notes.

So, “Avtovaz” from June and July plans to start production of several modifications with a minimum content of foreign components. Therefore, we welcome the early adoption of such a technical regulation.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, due to a shortage of components amid the imposition of sanctions against the Russian Federation, proposed to adopt a new technical regulation “On the safety of wheeled vehicles produced in a special period”, which will reduce the requirements for car safety. The Ministry has prepared a draft decree “On measures to ensure the production of vehicles in the face of sanctions and restrictions on the supply of components.”
