Bad mess in Venice: Waiters were caught hand in hand with customers

A cafe was turned into a ring in its famous square Saint Mark’s in Venice, when a waiter was caught with a group of tourists and the situation quickly got out of hand. Footage published by Italy’s Corriere del Veneto shows the brawl that broke out at Caffè Chioggia between waiters and tourists.

Video last week captured an eyewitness who can be heard exclaiming “What’s up;” watching the wild fight. At least seven waiters appear to have been involved in the quarrel with the four-member group of tourists, during which one man tried to protect himself by holding a chair as a “shield”, reports the New York Post.

Bello vero vedere questo in Piazza San Marco? Thank you all for coming to the più bella città del mondo.❤️

In the footage circulating on the internet, however, not all the waiters seem to be participating in the fight, on the contrary, some seem to be trying rather to calm the spirits. It is not known what happened before the fight broke out, as staff at the business refused to speak to local media about the incident.
