The opening of the new Perfumaria Carioca store in “Girl of the Moment” took social media by storm last Monday (11).
In the episode shown, Beatrice (Duda Santos) attended the event in an attempt to meet his mother, Clarice (Carol Castro), married to Julian (Fábio Assunção), heir to the brand.
The awaited moment, however, turned into a real scene of confusion and racism as the young woman was innocently accused of stealing soap from the establishment.
“Are you doubting my honesty? Do you want to search my bag? I’ll open it for you myself”, said Beatriz after the accusation.
“You can take photos, you can publish, because what happened here today is yet another example of how we, black people, are treated by this prejudiced society . And it is a shame that justice does not enforce Afonso Arinos Law because if he did that man would be arrested, it’s the law. Racist. I hate people like you”, he added towards Juliano.
