Beijing authorities spoke about plans for the development of their own metaverse

The government of the Chinese capital has released a two-year urban metaverse development plan that will require all neighborhoods to adhere to the recently released Web3 innovation program.

The plan is characterized as a new generation of information technology integration that will promote the development of the Internet. The program is designed to help Beijing create a reference city for the digital economy. The plan will require different regions to build technological infrastructure at the municipal level and promote its use in various areas of activity, including education and tourism.

The development program provides for the integration of such technical tools as 3D visualization and GIS (geographical information system) to create a visual digital platform for urban space and the corresponding improvement of digital infrastructure:

“Advance digital education scenarios, maintain close collaboration between Metaverse-related technology companies and educational institutions, expand intelligent and interactive online learning models, and develop industry-wide digital learning platforms.”

According to the plan, county municipalities will have to provide financial and personnel support for the creation and development of virtual reality.

Previously, China’s Taiyi Group acquired the Huoxun social platform to further develop it into the world’s first social platform with a focus on the development of the metaverse.
