Bella Thorne and Benji, love inside and out Time Is Up

He is handsome and a bit damned, he lives in the trailer with his mechanical father and his little sister, he swims but cannot become a champion, due to a childhood trauma that has to do with his mother and, indeed, with the water . She is beautiful, very intelligent, she studies quantum physics but has a boyfriend who doesn’t love her and a lot of insecurities. Obviously he and she like each other and will get together, and after overcoming a series of obstacles, love triumphs. This, in a very brutal synthesis, is the plot of Time Is Up, the film with Bella Thorne and Benjamin Mascolo, recently presented at the Rome Film Festival and in cinemas on 25, 26 and 27 October.

A classic teen movie, with all the trappings of the story of the genre: the hindered love, the beauty, the dream, the heartbeat but also the bad antagonists who row against. Directs Elisa Amoruso, talented director of the documentary Chiara Ferragni: Unposted, who manages to grasp and express adolescent feelings with lightness and dreams. From a commercial point of view, it is instead an operation that aims to bring the fans of Bella and Benji to the cinema, a couple also in life, to unite her American audience with his Italian one. In fact, everything was filmed in English, in the United States, with an Italian trip from Roman holidays in the days of Instagram, with the Tiber, the Spanish Steps, in short, the great beauty of Rome. But, between a boat ride and a party, the question one asks oneself while watching the film is: when do they kiss? Small spoiler: after about an hour.

In a game of cross-references and shuffling between real life and film, during the promotion of Time Is Up in Rome, Benji said he made the fateful marriage proposal at the end of the shoot. The second happy ending after the one on the big screen.
