Berlin: Feverish contacts for the Ukrainian

Political and diplomatic processes for the Ukrainian continue at a feverish pace in the German capital as well.

After US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met yesterday with his German counterpart Analena Berbock, during which they sent a clear message to Moscow that “any offensive action will have serious consequences”, he also had a meeting with Chancellor Olaf.

According to a statement from the German government, the Solts-Blinken meeting focused on “close and intensive coordination” of the dialogue with Russia at various levels and in various forms, as well as on “preventing further Russian military aggression against Ukraine.”

Telephone communication Solts-Johnson

On Thursday night, the German chancellor also had a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson about the alarming development of Russian forces along the border with Ukraine.

A German government spokesman said the two leaders agreed that joint efforts should be made to prevent Russian aggression and that it should be made clear to Russia that there would be “serious costs” in the event of an escalation of the aggression.

And all this at a time when international attention is focused on Geneva and Anthony Blinken’s contacts with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, but also in Moscow, whose next moves can not yet be safely assessed.
