The end of the year brings with it an expectation for the payment of the 13th salary – the first installment must be deposited by Tuesday (29).
In the assessment of the economist and finance professor at Insper, Alexandre Chaia, the uncertainties regarding the economy for the coming year make the issue of the 13th “more complex.”
In an interview with CNN Radio, he sees that the best use for the payment would be to use “as a reserve or to reduce the size of current debts.”
“The best thing would be to prepare for the beginning of next year,” he said. “There will be expenses such as IPVA, IPTU, school purchases, material will be needed again, if not properly planned, you will get into debt.”
However, he ponders that, in the second year of the pandemic, “the expectation of the commerce is that a considerable part of the 13th will go to consumption at Christmas, as people are looking for some encouragement at this time of fraternization.”
“Christmas is a time for gifts, what has to be done is to buy cheaper gifts so as not to enter the year in debt, the rain of bills is harmful”, he explained.
For the economist, 2022 will be either stability or recession, even more so with the election year. “Next year will be worse, there will be great uncertainty, the economy will perform poorly.”
