Biden and Erdogan met on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi

Brief meeting with the American president Joe Biden had o Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of its Summit G20in New Delhi, during which the issue of the F-16s requested by Turkey from the US was also discussed.

According to ERT, in his statements after the end of the Summit, President Erdoğan said: “We had a meeting with Mr. Biden, even standing up. There we also discussed the F-16 issue.”

It is recalled that Jens Stoltenberg, speaking to the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense of the European Parliament, estimated that very soon Sweden will become a full member of NATO.

He also mentioned that in Vilnius it was agreed to issue a statement that clearly expresses what should be done from Sweden’s side, while Turkey made it clear that it will proceed with ratification as soon as possible, he added. Mr. Stoltenberg underlined that this “was repeated many times by President Erdogan. So I expect that when the Turkish parliament meets again later in the fall, ratification will take place as soon as possible.”
