Biden asked for security guarantees for Donald Trump after shooting

US President Joe Biden said on Sunday (15) that he has asked his team to ensure that the Secret Service has all the resources to guarantee the safety of Donald Trump. The statement comes after the FBI confirmed an investigation into a possible assassination attempt against the former president.

“I have directed my team to ensure that the Secret Service has all the resources, capabilities, and protective measures necessary to ensure the continued safety of the former President,” a statement shared by the White House said.

Biden said he is following developments in the case: “I have been briefed by my team on what the Federal Police are investigating as a possible assassination attempt on former President Trump today.”

The US president praised the Secret Service’s efforts and said he was relieved to know Trump was safe.

“There is an active investigation into this incident as law enforcement gathers more details about what happened. As I have said many times, there is no place for political violence or any violence in our country,” he added.

Florida police and the FBI are investigating reports of gunfire at Donald Trump’s golf course on Sunday (15). A suspect was arrested and a gun was seized. There is still no information about the motive for the case.
