The second edition of Billboard Latin Women In Music was broadcast on Sunday (9). The event was pre-recorded and took place at the Telemundo Center, located in the North American city of Miami.
The ceremony crowned names like Karol G, Kali Uchis and Camila Cabello, who won the awards for Woman of the Year, Rising Artist and Global Impact, respectively. In addition to them, names like Gloria Estefan and Ana Bárbara were also awarded.
The Colombian owner of hits such as “Provenza” and “Contigo” had already received the Woman of the Year award at Billboard Women In Music and repeated the feat in the Latin edition. She couldn’t be present at the recording, but sent her father to receive the trophy and sent a video of thanks.
“The last few years have been the most beautiful years of my career. I feel very grateful for this recognition, I feel very honored by what it means, by the responsibility that this award brings. I want to infinitely thank all the women who made it possible for me to receive this award, all the women who are part of my work team, the women who collaborated with me on my songs, those who participated in my projects, all the women in their homes that listen to me and are also part of this success”, said Karol G.

The former Fifth Harmony singer used her acceptance speech to honor other women awarded on the night and talk about the influence her mother had on her life. Camila also encouraged fans to engage in social actions and stated that she is proud to be Cuban and Mexican.
“When the world is suffering, when news of war and death makes me feel pain in my chest, my mother reminds me that there is love in the world. She inspires me with this infinite strength, she shows me that there is hope in the world. To my fans, I wanted to say don’t underestimate the power of your actions. Get involved with the cause that interests you, each act of kindness creates a reaction, the ocean is made up of small drops. I am grateful every day for being Cuban and Mexican, I am proud to represent young people with stories like mine”, said the Cuban.
