The self-proclaimed creator of Bitcoin, Craig Wright, has demanded that Bitcoin.org and Bitcoincore.org remove the white paper of the first cryptocurrency, accusing them of copyright infringement. Bitcoin.org owner Cobra refused to comply with this requirement.

The letter, written by Ontier lawyers, claims Craig Wright’s white paper copyright, the name “Bitcoin” and the ownership of the Bitcoin.org domain name.
In response, Cobra called all of the lawyer’s statements “false” and “unfounded.” He explained the refusal to remove the white paper of bitcoin from the site by the fact that the document had an MIT license, which implies its free distribution.
Cobra also recalled that Satoshi Nakamoto owns the PGP public key, thanks to which he can verify his identity, and noted that Craig Wright has not yet done this.
We’ve published a notice regarding CSW, the Bitcoin whitepaper, and Bitcoin Core’s recent actions.https://t.co/M2jP4FS24i

“We will continue to post the Bitcoin white paper and we will not be silenced or intimidated. Other sites that host the whitepaper should follow our example and counter these false accusations. ”
At the same time, Cobra reported that bitcoincore.org has already deleted its copy of the document and links to it, which is reflected on GitHub.
“By participating in self-censorship in this way, the Bitcoin Core developers have confirmed the false claims of Bitcoin’s enemies, jeopardizing its integrity,” Cobra wrote.
In May 2019, Craig Wright took over the copyright for the white paper and Bitcoin source code. Later, the US Copyright Office clarified that copyright registration is not equivalent to an official patent, and they did not recognize Wright as the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
