With the premiere of “This is how it ends” the actress Blake Lively 36, surpassed her husband Ryan Reynolds at the box office over the weekend in Brazil. It is showing with “Deadpool & Wolverine” . Both are protagonists and producers of their respective films.
The drama based on the best-selling book by Colleen Hoover hit theaters on August 8 and has grossed $3.4 million (around R$18.6 million) since its premiere. In the same period, the feature film grossed $2.6 million (around R$14.2 million). The data is from Box Office Mojo.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” premiered on July 25 and has grossed US$21.8 million (around R$120 million) at the box office in Brazil. Worldwide, the title has already surpassed US$1 billion (around R$5.4 billion).
Already “This is how it ends” has grossed $80 million worldwide in less than a week in theaters. In addition to Lively, the film also stars Isabella Ferrer , Jenny Slate , Brandon Sklenar and Justin Baldoni – who is also responsible for directing the film – make up the cast.
The plot follows Lily Bloom, who overcomes childhood and teenage traumas and leaves for Boston, in the United States, to start a new life and fulfill a dream: opening a flower shop with her name.
Once there, she meets a charming neurosurgeon, who turns out to be her new best friend’s brother. They get closer and start a romance, but the relationship starts to remind Lily of memories from the past that she wants to forget. In the midst of this, the florist meets an old love, which ends up making the situation even more complicated.
The title marks the first adaptation of a book by Colleen Hoover for the screen. The author is one of the leading names in contemporary literature, is on several best-seller lists around the world and was cited as one of the most influential people of 2023 by Time magazine.
