Bloomberg: Musk plans to travel to Indonesia to investigate possible investments

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, is considering visiting Indonesia to explore investment opportunities in the resource-rich Southeast Asian country, according to Bloomberg.

The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX met on Saturday with Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the rocket maker in Boca Chica, Texas, during which Widodo extended an invitation. “I hope in November, thank you for the invitation,” Musk said in a statement issued by the Widodo office.

Indonesia, home to some of the world’s largest copper, nickel and tin deposits, is projecting its abundant natural resources to attract billions of dollars in foreign investor money.

The government has been discussing possible collaborations with Musk’s teams in recent years, including the development of electric vehicles with Tesla and the possibility of setting up a SpaceX rocket launcher in the country, but no agreements have been reached.

Musk is currently in a takeover bid for Twitter Inc. $ 44 billion, although the deal has been cloudy with uncertainty, as on Friday he said his offer is “temporarily on hold” and then claimed he was “still committed” to the deal.
