According to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the situation, the activities of the Digital Currency Group (DCG) have attracted the attention of US regulators.
The US Department of Justice for the Eastern District of New York is working with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to investigate internal transfers between DCG and Genesis Global Capital.
Recall that Genesis is part of the DCG structure. Prosecutors have already sent requests for documents and interviews with employees of both companies. The SEC has made similar requests.
So far, there is no official data on this, just as there are no accusations against DCG. The representative of the “cryptoconglomerate” said that he did not know about the investigation:
“All companies in the DCG structure have a strong corporate culture, we all conduct business legally. We don’t know and we have no reason to suspect an investigation by the Eastern District of New York.”
Note that the investigation into Genesis Global Capital became known back in November last year. However, until now the parent company DCG has not been affected by this.
