BNDES announces hybrid work pilot project for all employees

In line with the new work dynamics that gained space with the pandemic, the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) will launch a pilot hybrid work project for all employees at the end of August. Today the institution has 2,470 employees.

The pilot will last 12 months and will start on August 29. BNDES management informed that the project will be divided into two phases. For the first six months, public bank employees will be able to work remotely on two fixed days of the week.

In the second stage, starting in March 2023, remote work management will be monthly and no longer weekly. Then, each employee will be able to work remotely for up to eight days a month, with no restrictions on the sequential use of those days. The only condition is that the new dynamics be agreed with the manager.

Currently, work at the BNDES is in person, but people with comorbidities that increase the risk of infection by Covid-19, pregnant women and the elderly remain in telework.

The new rules will apply to the entire body of the bank’s employees, but the technology area, in particular, will be able to apply other hybrid work alternatives throughout these 12 months.

“The profile of activities carried out by the area and the long history of measuring ATI’s result indicators will allow for experimentation”, informed the BNDES.

The bank makes no mention of the fact, but managers of the productive sector as a whole confirm the almost irreversible trend of remote work for technology employees, a category disputed by the market and marked by high turnover, due to high demand, including internationally.

In a note, the BNDES informed that “the construction of the BNDES’ hybrid work models started with a broad diagnosis based on internal listening, evaluation of studies and global benchmarking”.

The bank highlighted that, during the pandemic, its staff “worked with efficiency and deliveries to society” and, now, during the experimentation, they will continue with the “same standard of excellence” in services.
