In a statement to journalists this Sunday (15), President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) avoided talking about the departure of the current president of Petrobras. However, he stated that the current Minister of Mines and Energy has the autonomy to make any changes to the oil company.
“Sachsida and all ministers, from the beginning, have carte blanche without exception [para fazer qualquer alteração]. Obviously, any mess will talk to me. But I trust Sachsida 100% and I am sure he will be a good minister. Just like Bento [Albuquerque] he was. But, for a personal reason, he asked to leave”, highlighted Bolsonaro.
Since the Minister of Mines and Energy, Adolfo Sachsida, took over, members of the highest level of the portfolio have been considering a possible departure of José Mauro Ferreira, who took over last month.
“To be fully in tune with the team, it will be necessary to change the current president of Petrobras. That’s a fact,” he told CNN on condition of anonymity a source from the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
