Boris Johnson to announce R$7.7 billion to fight climate change

The British Prime Minister is expected to announce that the UK will commit £1bn – or R$7.73bn at the current rate – in climate finance aid by 2025, if Britain’s economy grows as planned. .

The prime minister opened the speech of leaders at the climate conference, COP26, in Glasgow, this Monday (1) with a scathing speech, but he has not yet presented his proposals.

“Humanity has long run the clock on climate change. We are a minute away from midnight and we need to act now,” Johnson said.

“If we don’t get serious about climate change today, it will be too late for our children to do it tomorrow,” he declared.

“We have to move from conversations, debates and discussions to concrete actions, to action in the real world in relation to coal, cars, money and trees”, he declared.
