The total corn crop in Brazil 2021/22 was estimated at 113.3 million tons, down from the 114.69 million tons in the August forecast, but an increase of 30.1% versus the 2020/21 cycle, thanks to the recovery of yields after a severe drought in the previous season.
Conab raised the forecast for Brazil’s 2021/22 soybean crop to 125.55 million tons, compared to 124.05 million in August, but production will still fall 9.9% compared to 2020/21, when the country had a record.
With an upward revision in the estimate, Conab raised the country’s soybean export forecast in 2022 to 77.19 million tons, versus 75.23 million seen last month.
Corn exports are expected to total 37 million tons, 500,000 less than expected in August.
