At dawn today (15), over 1.5 million doses of vaccine against Covid-19 manufactured by Pfizer arrived in Brazil. The landing was at Viracopos airport, in Campinas (SP).

This is another shipment that is part of the 100 million doses scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2021, as part of the second contract signed between the government and Pfizer.

The Ministry of Health’s forecast is that 56.7 million doses of Pfizer’s immunizing agent arrive in November, with anticipation of part of the batches.

According to the information panel updated by the folder, the most widely distributed vaccine so far in Brazil was developed by the consortium of international laboratories Pfizer/BioNTech, with 132.8 million doses. Next come the immunization agents from Fiocruz/AstraZeneca (118.2 million), Butantan/Sinovac (100.9 million) and Janssen (4.8 million).

Of the distributed doses, 294.2 million were applied, according to official data. As a result, 156.7 million people received at least one dose of vaccine, equivalent to 70% of the population, reported Saúde. Of these, 126.2 million completed the vaccination schedule with two doses or a single dose (Janssen).
