Brazil recorded 53 deaths and 18,575 new infections by Covid-19 this Sunday (3) according to data released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass), referring to the last 24 hours.
Due to technical problems, the Conass balance sheet does not include data from six states – Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima and Tocatins – and from the Federal District.
In all, Brazil records 32,490,422 cases of the disease and 671,911 deaths caused by Covid-19.
The moving average of cases for the last seven days stands at 58,826, and deaths at 215.
Vaccination
The number of deaths from Covid-19 in Brazil fell by 83.2% in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. A survey carried out by CNN Agency points out that 311,890 people died from the disease in the first six months of 2021. In the same period in 2022, there were 52,360.
The drop in the number of deaths this semester can be explained by the increase in the number of people vaccinated throughout the second half of 2021 and the first six months of this year.
