Brazil surpassed the mark of 700 deaths caused by dengue. According to data from the Ministry of Health, this absolute number is currently 715, while there are another 1,078 deaths being investigated for allegedly being related to the disease.
Last Thursday (21), the ministry's Case Monitoring Panel reported that Brazil had reached 2 million confirmed cases. This Friday (22), this number rose to 2,045,277.
Another piece of data that stands out is the dengue incidence rate. According to the most recent update, it is 1007.2 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. However, last Tuesday (19) the coefficient was 954.2, which indicates that the number of cases tends to increase.
To date, Minas Gerais is the state with the highest number of infections, with 690,077 as of the last update. In the state, this total number of cases has already resulted in 117 deaths, with a further 406 under investigation.
