Brazilian dies in combat after two years as a volunteer in the Ukrainian War

Brazilian Murilo Lopes Santos, 26, died in combat after two years as a volunteer in the Ukrainian War.

The information was confirmed by the young man’s mother, who is still waiting for a decision on the transfer of the body.

Murilo was born in the city of Castro, in the south of Paraná, and went to Ukraine in November 2022 to help in the conflict against Russia.

In Brazil he served in the Brazilian Army for 18 months and only left the corporation due to the end of his military service.

After passing through several Ukrainian cities, the victim was in Zaporizhzhia – on the banks of the Dnipro River – and took part in a fight against Russian troops on Friday (5).

He had tried to save a colleague, who was seriously injured and is hospitalized in a local hospital, when he was hit and did not survive.

Rosângela Pavin, Murilo’s mother, posted on social media about the loss of her son. “My boy, I never thought you would be in the news like this, but God has a purpose in the life of each one of us and you fulfilled your mission here on Earth and with much praise and honor. […]”, he wrote.
