It is no secret to anyone that getting married, no matter how intimate the ceremony may be, involves considerable expense. For this reason, many brides decide to create their own decorations, taking advantage of the fact that there are countless easy and original options on the Internet to personalize their celebration.
However, not everyone thinks of bringing the DIY concept to their own wedding cake, not even considering how expensive they usually are and that the idea of baking it at home, in the comfort of their own kitchen, can be a great way to save money.
Although the advantages of making your own wedding cake are attractive, it is still a risky bet, but Laura, a young bride, originally from Australia, decided to take on the challenge to save a few dollars in the celebration of one of the most important days of their life.
The excited girl decided to share the process of creating her wedding cake on her TikTok account, identified as @darlinggoose. In the clip, Laura can be seen showing off six boxes of colored sprinkles cake mix, which she baked two days before the wedding.
The next day, at midnight, the bride got to work decorating her two-tier cake, which at the end of the clip looks frosted and covered with colored sprinkles.
I’m not sure if making my wedding cake the night before my wedding was the best idea.
Posted on June 23, the video of the proud bride for her creation already exceeds 3.9 million views. However, although Laura was happy with the final result, she did not expect that she would receive a barrage of criticism from some Internet users who could not help but judge the wedding dessert, with comments such as:
‘It’s a joke? Because this cake looks like a birthday cake. ‘I hear your guests criticize it.’ ‘No, just not.’
Fortunately, the bride received the support of a large number of users:
‘It was a very good idea!’ ‘Expensive cakes are overrated’. “Thank God, finally someone who doesn’t pay $500 for a wedding cake.” ‘People are so mean. If you’re happy, that’s all that matters, it’s your day.
In a follow-up video, Laura shared pictures from her wedding, proving that making her own cake turned out to be better than she thought.
‘You’re not going to make a cake with colored sprinkles for your wedding, that must be a joke.’ Thanks to my photographer, Kim, for her extraordinary work.
