Britain, Italy and Japan invest in new sixth-generation fighter jet called GCAP

Britain, Italy and Japan announced today that they will establish a joint company to develop, design and manufacture an advanced Stealth aircraft, moving forward with a major defense project at a time of political unrest and regional conflict around the world. The deal comes as European nations seek to bolster their militaries following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and US President-elect Donald Trump’s calls for higher defense spending, while Japan also looks to bolster its forces given the growing threat posed by believed to be from China.
