Britain: Retail petrol and diesel prices hit new high – Cost of living crisis intensifies

Retail petrol and diesel prices in the UK reached a new high on Thursday, intensifying pressure on the cost of living of British consumers, according to Bloomberg.

The average price of gasoline reached 1.9022 pounds-pounds per liter, setting the cost of filling a 55-liter tank of a family car reaches 104.62 pounds, according to the RAC observatory. Diesel rose to 98 1.9846, approaching λί 2 a liter.

“The cost of gasoline in pumps should have already stopped rising – and in fact it should have gone in the opposite direction,” said RAC spokesman Simon Williams.

“While there is no doubt that wholesale costs had risen dramatically a few weeks ago, this is not the case at this time,” he added.

Although the price of unleaded gasoline is expected to fall, that of diesel is expected to rise, the RAC concludes.
