British Foreign Office demands to prosecute organizers of Protasevich’s interview

British Prime Minister Dominic Raab demanded on Twitter to bring to justice the organizers of yesterday’s “interview” of the Belarusian opposition leader Roman Protasevich. In Germany, the “interview” was called a shame for the government of Belarus, NDTV reports.

 

“The alarming interview with Mr. Protasevich last night was clearly under duress and arrest. The persecution of human rights and media freedom defenders in Belarus must stop. …

German government spokesman Steffen Seibert condemned the showing of Protasevich’s interview and called it a shame for the TV presenter and for the leadership of Belarus. Seibert is confident that Protasevich was forced, possibly physically, to speak in front of the camera.
