But can we now go on a trip abroad?

A few weeks ago we told you about some paradoxes related to travel in this period (find the article here). The DPCMs succeed, but some contradictions remain. One above all is this, while today it is not possible to move between regions in Italy even if both are yellow, the DPCM of January 14, 2021 has re-created lists of countries for which it is possible to leave without the need to demonstrate work or other reasons. Wonder, we would say at a first approach to this news.

Too bad, however, that there could be some unpleasant surprises once you book a flight and a hotel.

The first is that to reach the airport, if it is in another region, there could be unexpected events if a patrol stops us: this is because a pleasure trip is not part of the needs that justify moving between regions.

The second concerns the – careful – choice of the country to go to. The countries to which we can leave according to the Italian government are those included in the lists A, B, C and D of the last DPCM and on closer inspection there are not a few. In the first there are understandably San Marino and Vatican City, the two countries that are physically located on the Italian peninsula. In second list, the B, intended for “low epidemiological risk territories”, at the moment no country is listed (!). Dell ‘list C the vast majority of European countries belong. In thelist D finally there are seven non-European countries to which we can leave.

The point is that if we can leave Italy to reach them, it is absolutely not said that we will be able to leave the airport once we land. The Viaggiare Sicuri website specifies as follows: «Under Italian law, travel to / from these countries is allowed without the need for a motivation (subject to the limitations set forth in Italy at the regional level). The removal of restrictions on travel from Italy to some countries does not exclude that these countries can still place limits on entry “. Limits that in fact exist and change for each country. So how to understand if we can really travel to the countries on this list, some of which, like Thailand, are notoriously at the top of the preferences of us Italians?
We have checked the regulations currently in force for the most desired destinations (they are in the glllaery above).

Attention, the details of the limitations and specific measures are updated to the day we publish this article, February 3, 2021. Before booking, however, it is always recommended to consult the in-depth information sheets on the site Travel Safe.
