Fate: The Winx Saga, television adaptation of the cartoon by Iginio Straffi, has been able to make its way through the jungle of Netflix, one of the most popular titles on the platform. The public appreciated it, not only in Italy, but throughout the world, where the casting of the production did not fail to arouse some controversy. At the exact moment when Netflix released the first trailer of the TV series, the allegation of white-washing appeared online.
Musa, Asian in the cartoon, has become Caucasian, and so has Flora, a Latin fairy replaced in the Netflix series by someone named Terra.
“If there will be a second season, I hope that Flora and Earth can be seen together. It is very important that this happens. The debate around these topics is necessary, I am happy that all this is being talked about ”, declared Eliot Salt, interpreter of Terra, putting forward an idea that, today, no longer sounds so pilgrim.
Although an official announcement from Netflix is missing, it seems that the success of the Winx was such as to induce the platform to confirm a second season of the series. The streaming giant would have already put it into production, picking up where the first season stopped. From an open ending, in which the possibility of giving life to what the title promises is inherent, a saga, with all the trappings of the case. In the second season, which Netflix is said to be making official soon, the cast of the first would be ready to return, as well as some new characters. Perhaps, Eliot Salt’s own Flora.
