The Court of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) extended this Wednesday (23) the schedule for the sale of refineries by Petrobras.
The review of the schedule, the agency explained, involves the divestment of assets provided for in the agreement and not yet carried out by Petrobras, within the scope of the agreements signed in the process that ended the company’s monopoly in the refining market.
“The state-owned company submitted to Cade a request for readjustment of sales terms, in view of the internal and external economic situations that impact the sector, as well as the development of negotiations regarding the assets themselves”, informed Cade. The process is confidential.
According to the agency, after analyzing “the status of the procedure of each refinery, the economic context and the market perspectives in relation to the opening of the sector”, the councilors evaluated that Petrobras’ claim is duly justified and is adequate to achieve the long-term objectives of the agreement.
Thus, the municipality authorized the extension of the deadlines for signing the sales agreements between the state-owned company and eventual buyers of the refineries. The schedule is confidential, restricted to the parties, and was not disclosed by Cade.
